Day 4 NS

Finally a down day to just stop and rest a bit! This campground is a short run to David’s sister and mom so after a slow and leisurely start, we went to Millbrook for a visit. Once Mary-Katherine joins us we will stop for a longer visit on the way home but we wanted to spend at least some time here.

We arrived late morning to find everyone well. That’s always a nice thing at our age when you are visiting parents! We have reached the stage in our lives where we don’t take things for granted so to find David’s mom well and as full of badness as ever is a joy!

We were also treated to a bonus in meeting our niece and nephew for the first time! Sarah is a very relaxed and obviously competent mother of beautiful twins. Now she doesn’t stop for long, but she is clearly up to the challenge and that is certainly reflected in the calm, content and playful babies that entertained us through the day!

As expected the 75% chance of rain today became a 100% certainty. After a wonderful family day we arrived back in the trailer to spend the evening listening to the rain pound on the trailer roof … such a soothing sound – as long as you are warm and dry inside (!!), cozy with a good book and resting up for a trek to Cape Breton in the morning!
John and Ava our delightful niece and nephew!

David and his mom - horsing around as usual.
